Default Chronicle tournaments

How about tournaments with skills from only one of the three campaigns?

How about random build tournament, you can only pick 2-4 skills and the system pick up the rest and put the people into a random arena?

More formats for PvP, yaaaay!

/BIG SIGNED

I'd totally love a Prophecies+Core only GvG tournament format. And custom third-party tournaments with possibilities of different rules setups. And Sealed Deck tournaments where you have to make build from a random limited pool of skills would be beyond awesome. And official rules for this format were released by Anet many years ago, just not implemented in game.

All would be practically NEW PVP CONTENT which the game desperately needs, and which should be much easier to add than whole new maps or PvE content.

That actually sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I don't know if I'd ever play any such things as I'm really not a PvP fan, but it still sounds like it'd be neat and interesting.

random skills sounds like tons of fun but the campaign only would ean everyone is going to running almost the same thing.

Tournaments with special restrictions like skills being only from certain campaigns and such could be a lively addition to PvP.

As far as the other suggestion goes, it'd be cool to see Costume Brawl give players of each profession a random preset build of maybe three or four made for the profession, rather than just one build each season.

Wasnt there a Nightfall + Core skills only tournament a month or so after the release of NF?
And theres something similiar to your random skillbar idea, its called Sealed Deck.

Anything like this would certainly be a welcome addition to PvP IMO.

That is called "Sealed Deck"

And I don't think it being a bad idea, but it would leave some professions out of the question, and in some campaigns some professions have less skills. (Nightfall has LOTS of skills for Dervish and Paragon, but much less for the rest)

That wouldn't happen if some skills were added to previous campaigns instead adding them all on top and now the problem is there: Which skills leave out so all professions have similar numbers of skills in each sealed deck?

i think for a sealed deck to work in guild wars, the skills would be different from all the other skills (like how now there is a pvp and pve set) and they would make this other set balanced skill amount wise, that way if they can move skills around and all that jazz, and you would be able to chose from around 20 skills per profession that's like 5 skills per attribute. . . that is how i would do it or a balanced version of something like that.

Campaign specific is limiting who can participate. I'd only agree with it if there was a choice you could make when entering, and all 3 campaigns had one. This way people who don't own a specific game could still play, just not in that version of the matches. Sealed Deck stuff has always been supported, still not sure why they haven't put it in.

If it takes creative resources away from gw2, then I'd say it was a good idea but about 2 yrs too late.

A Sealed Deck arena would absolutely rule.

The community has held several of these in the past. Would be nice if ANet could introduce some more creative tournament ideas though.

This is a very bad idea because it would be so unbalanced.

Stop complaining about how Dervs and Paras wouldnt get much of a choice in skills and would be left out, When was the last time you saw a derv or para in PvP?

That won't really be important, if it would be fun.

If it is unbalanced, all that is needed is not giving rewards for playing there other than the fun of playing there, like with scrimmages.

how can it be unbalanced if u all use prophecies only, cantha only, nightfall only skills in arena/special events.

would be interesting to atleast see it happened, whether or not it goes over well is another question.
